Social Studies

Mrs. Amber Glover

Hi! I’m Amber Glover, and I’ve been proud to call Beddingfield High School home since I began my teaching career here in 2010. I graduated from East Carolina University as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow with a degree in Secondary History Education. This year marks my 15th year in the classroom, and I’m honored to be a National Board Certified Teacher.

I currently teach American History, AVID III, and Civics, and I truly enjoy helping students grow, both in and out of the classroom. Building strong relationships with my students is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.

Outside of school, I’m married to, Bryant, the agriculture teacher here at Beddingfield, and together we’re raising three wonderful boys: Carter, Jake, and Wyatt. We also share our home with a cat and 11 chickens, which definitely keeps life interesting!

Ms. Amanda Parrish

As a graduate of Beddingfield High School (Class of 2011), a Pee Wee and Myrtle Owens Scholar, and a graduate of Barton College (with a license in Social Studies Education for grades 6-12), I am glad to be back home with the Bruins after spending my first year teaching 8th grade Social Studies at Elm City Middle School. This is my 11th year teaching overall and my 10th at Beddingfield. There is no other place I'd rather be than teaching Beddingfield students. Not only do I love having a small part of the educational and life journey for so many students, but I bleed Beddingfield blue and gold! In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, playing with my dog (Buddy), watching sports, fishing, and traveling to various historical sites, the North Carolina beaches, and Walt Disney World! Go Bruins!!! 🩵🐻💛

Ms. Amandeep Pooni

Hi! I’m Amandeep Pooni, and this is my 4th year teaching. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2022. I currently teach World History, but I have taught English I in the past. My favorite part of teaching is building strong connections with students and supporting them throughout their high school journeys! Outside of school, I enjoy reading, traveling, and being with my family and friends! Additionally, I love soccer and was the assistant coach at Beddingfield for five seasons.

Mr. John Ware

I graduated from UNC-Pembroke in 2018 and taught middle school for 4 years prior to arriving at Beddingfield in 2022. History and football are important to me and I am very happy to mentor students in those areas.
